I've been on the T.V.
and I've seen some stars
I made fun of everybody
all I got was stars
I chip my ego
just a piece at a time
let go all of my ego
and I'll be just fine
I spent some time out in California
Living in a town that everybody call L.A.
I followed my dreams
oh and I followed it boldy
But heaven knows that I can't stay
I'll be right here
in this place
forever
Ohio
and a day
I went on a spaceship
and I flew to mars
I looked back at the earth and said
"That doesn't seem that far"
I lay on my pillow
and watch that big full moon rise
I look over at my love and say
what's with all the lies
I spent some time out in California
Living in a town that everybody call L.A.
I followed my dreams
oh and I followed it boldy
But heaven knows that I can't stay
I'll be right here
in this place
forever
Ohio
and a day
They wait for a week
while he's laid up inside
and they wait for the light to say
you're gonna die
but he makes it through just one more night
but they'll come a time
You sneak in the fight at the end of the day
but there's something so true bout the way that you say
"We're born then we work just to die, but they'll come a time"
I've seen all the rights and I've seen all the wrongs
throw it straight at the weak standing amongst the strong
we always leave lovin alone but they'll come a time
I spent some time out in California
Living in a town that everybody call L.A.
I followed my dreams
oh and I followed it boldy
But heaven knows that I can't stay
I'll be right here
in this place
forever
Ohio
and a day

Battleline
03:31
|
|
||
Read our minds
and satisfy
Top of the line
gotta make it mine
Sleeping softly
till the warning of the neon light
As we search and pray for the days
that we can say we’re alive
Oh my heaven
I guess I’m glad I realize
that there is stone cold reasons
that there is more than to the eyes
I blame myself for all the pain I cause in my life
but you can’t always be on the winning side of your life.
Your life
Sentimental
Serenade
When you find a lover
you can celebrate
Sleeping softly
till the warning of the neon light
As we search and pray for the days
that we can say we’re alive
Oh my heaven I guess I’ll guess and think twice
bout the things I’ve seen and the things I’ve done with my time
My time

Lilly of the Valley
02:53
|
|
||
I was born in Ohio
then I moved to L.A.
Never really knew what I wanted to do
but I knew I’d have a lot to say
Go before me
and leave me while I’m gone
Let me know
and I’ll start letting go
Now I’m sitting by the fire
out in Greene County
I take a potato and I make a bowl
All I think is finally
Go before me
and leave me while I’m gone
Let me know
and I’ll start letting go
See the lilly of the valley
gonna plant it in our yard
if you want things to be beautiful
you gotta work long and hard
Go before me
and leave me while I’m gone
Let me know
and I’ll start letting go

Sing For Joy
05:13
|
|
||
The preacher said to me
lets teach them how to sing
He said how could I even try
I wasn’t there on the day he died
Oh jesus.
He said hear me nice and loud
Have you ever looked at a cloud
that stopped you in your tracks and left you wondering
The answers not in you or the thing that people do.
So do it quick and oh do it fast
cause you just don’t know which day is your last
He says
Sing for Joy
sing for Love
Sing for everybody
cause we’ve all been through enough
He says
Sing for Joy
sing for Love
Sing for everybody
cause we’ve all been through enough
The preacher said to me
lets teach them how to sing
he said how can this all be
and then the car missed the kid in the street
hallelujah
hallelujah
He said remember when you were a child
and you dreamed of running wild.
But when you’re running as fast as you can it leaves you breathless
Girls turn into worlds and boys fight for their toys.
and never stop to think
what’s happening to me?
So do it quick and oh do it fast
cause you just don’t know which day is your last
He says
Sing for Joy
sing for Love
Sing for everybody
cause we’ve all been through enough
He says
Sing for Joy
sing for Love
Sing for everybody
cause we’ve all been through enough
I got a mountain to climb
to get out of my head
I’ll be saving my self oh till I am dead
The preacher wants to sing
but it don’t mean a thing
If ain’t listening
So I sing lot’s of songs
and I try to right my wrongs
like I’m singing now.
Singing now.

One More Time
03:15
|
|
||
Thank you lord
I am humbled by your light
I am far away from shore
in a boat without an oar
but I’m alright
and thank you Lord
for everything I see
Thank you Lord
for the things I’ll never be
and thank you Lord
for the things that are never mine
and thank you Lord
for one more time
I’m wide awake while I’m asleep
I’ll climb this mountain but it’s steep
I’m looking down and all around
at the things I lost and found
in my life
and thank you Lord
for everything I see
Thank you Lord
for the things I’ll never be
and thank you Lord
for the things that are never mine
and thank you Lord
for one more time
The beast in me grows hungry
the beast in me grows cold
the beast in me gets angry while I’m watching myself get old
but I’m loving you still

I went down to the river
and there wasn’t any rain
and when it turned into a creek
we made a human chain
The rain came down
one by one
but you can’t stop the river
once it’s begun
We used guns and knives
and ammo too.
We used missiles and bombs
with a napalm boom
We got us a tank
and blew the sides of the banks
but it all came down
and the river still came through
You can’t stop the river
oh no but you can try
This heavenly distance
this heavenly distance
is what is making me cry
and all the distance in between
is never really what it seems but I’m still crying
So I’ll trek through night
and through the days and you amaze me
Oh Matthew with the way, the way you smile
You can’t stop the river
oh no but you can try
You can know a man
and really know him well
but you’ll never know his heaven
and you’ll never know his hell.
Life’s way too short
and just a little too long
until you find that place
where you belong
He says my name is Matthew
you might have seen me around
smoking my reds while I paint this town
I got bright blonde hair
and ole big blue eyes
he says I’m Clermont counties
best looking guy
You can’t stop the river
oh no but you can try
This heavenly distance
this heavenly distance
is what is making me cry
and all this distance in between
is never really what it seems but I’m still crying
So I’ll trek through night
and through the days and you amaze me
Oh Matthew with the way, the way you smile
You can’t stop the river
oh no but you can try
Tell my daughter it will be alright
if Grandma Betty did it then she’ll be just fine
tell my Mom and Dad they’ll make it through the night
Ian’s right here sittin by my side
Tell all my lovers my sister and my brother
you’re in my heart and I’m never too far
and to my family and friends I will see you again
cause this river is a running around

Old Hound Louise
03:40
|
|
||
Suffering still
of the moonshine from hills
they cook it all up
it’s the good stuff for drinkin’
He sneaks past his wife
in the old double wide
He waste all the days and she waste all the nights
It’s a hard time no offense so just be who you are.
The only way through is the way through the fire
Then he steps on Louise
who’s a big old hound dog
then the heavens around him are all falling apart
His wife wakes up and says that you been at the bar
If you leave here again I’m gonna change all the locks
He remembers the days
Dreams of some foreign place
Waking up without love
in a place you call home
When the sun is the kitchen light
smoking marlboro’s at till night
He speaks with his eyes that say
you’re all gonna die
He waits for a week
for the right attitude
then out with the cows and the warmth of the moon
Old hound Louise she don’t care who you are
They want you to go but you all went to far
No I’m safe from the others
and so safe from you
the way that you’re cursed and the things that you do
A negative Nancy so just be who you are
They want you to go but you all went to far
They said rise up
and sing
We all need something

The lonely desperado was making his way
through a post apocalyptic zombie U.S.A.
With a pistol at his side and an AR on his back
it gets lonely out here with no one to attack
The lonely desperado makes his way through the field
into abandoned old towns, to the black and grey hills
All that is left is the dead of the trees, then he hears someone say
“Drop straight to your knees”
And the wind it blew strong
and the wind it grew fair
He said, “ I’ll turn around and shoot you down,
and not even care.”
The lonely desperado looks slowly behind. He sees a cop uniform
with a kid at his side. He said give me your gun or it will be your last.
He said I’ll give you my gun if you give me that badge.
And the wind it blew strong
and the wind it grew fair
He said, “ I’ll turn around and shoot you down,
and not even care.”
The cop said no need it’s easy to see your out here like us
searching desperately. We came up from Atlanta and this is Jake by my side.
He just turned 13 and watched his whole family die. We got a lot of faith
but we gotta draw the line between the wicked running ramped killing everyone
at night. I’ve seen a lot of things and I know this little place. It’s called the love and blood of Christ and I’ve seen it spilt a million times.
And the wind it blew strong
and the wind it grew fair
He said, “If you turn around and shoot us all down, we all will be dead”
(continued)
The lonely desperado said “okay,
have you had anything to eat?”
they said “No, not for days.”
He looks down at Jake and pulls the gun from
his side. He shoots the cop in the face right between
both his eyes. As he drops to the ground Jake ttys to run
and hide. The desperado says “Stay, you need to survive.
We’ll cook up the cop and we’ll eat him tonight. Then I’ll teach you to shoot
and then I’ll take my own life. What the cop said is true about the blood of the
lamb. The only hope now is you turning into a man. I’m old and I’m tired and I’ve
longed for this today, but tomorrow when I’m gone cure the meat from my legs. Ration your food and navigate with the stars and pray for the day when you finally find God.”
And the wind it blew strong
and the wind it grew fair
He said, “If you turn around and shoot em’ all down, but tonight enjoy the
bacon and legs.”

We Don't Mind
04:50
|
|
||
We don’t mind
Staying up real late
I will love you babe
if you can wait
If we take our time
we just might find
a love like ours
is hard to find
So I
I will carry the way that I love you
I will share in the way that I need you
All my life
All my life
and I
I will carry the way that I love you
I will share in the way that I left you
like the salt against the shore
Summer time
is not the same
Jumping all around
swimming at the lake
And I know I’m
no good for you
but you know that I
I would die for you
So I
I will carry the way that I love you
I will share in the way that I need you
All my life
All my life
and I
I will carry the way that I love you
I will share in the way that I left you
like the salt against the shore
There’s nothing I want more.
Awake my soul
getting lost just to find a way home
Come take my hand get close you know we’re gonna get there
O H I O it exist in the middle of the ocean
Embrace my soul
Run fast to the middle of the ocean
